How to Become a Process Server

Whether you're just starting in the industry or looking to expand your current process server operation, this detailed guide will show you how to enter the profession of process serving and secure a larger base of paying customers.

What you'll Learn:

1. Getting Started

What qualities define an effective process server? What are their typical professional backgrounds? What steps can you take immediately to begin your journey in this field?

2. Your States Legal Requirements

Every state has different rules that change often. I've included the requirements for each state below but be sure to confirm with your local government to be sure you are in compliance.

3. Start where you are and grow

Many New Process Servers fall into the trap of competing against established firms with substantial advertising funds. Begin with the resources at your disposal, and I'll guide you through the steps to get started.

4. Learn to Market Your Business Like A Pro

Building a strong online presence begins with establishing a website, which serves as the cornerstone of your brand. This showcases what sets you apart from competitors, giving potential clients insight into your unique service. Without a website, your voice in the industry is lost, relegating you to work under larger Process Serving Companies.

5. Prospect to Attorneys

Market yourself to Law Firms by calling them using the scripts and sending them a copy of your rate sheet. I show you how easy this is in my 90 Day Challenge for Process Servers

6. Nurture A Referral Program

Be the Best Process Server in your area. This is the best marketing you can do. Your clients will tell their friends. You can offer incentives for them to share your information by building relationships with the "Go-Getter" attorneys in your market.

7. Join The Mighty Process Server Community

It is essential that you surround yourself with others that have similar goals. "Your Network is Your Networth" and the Mighty Process Server community is full of amazing professionals ready to lend a hand and support your growth.

Getting Started

Do you remain composed under pressure and think quickly on your feet? If so, you could be well-suited to a career as a process server.

But why opt for a career that demands odd hours and constant travel? The answer is straightforward: process servers value their independence. They prefer to work without constant supervision and enjoy the unique challenges their job presents.

When I embarked on my journey in this field, I lacked contacts, experience, and knowledge about how to start. As a nursing student working as a pharmacy delivery driver I needed something that paid more and gave me back some time for my family.

Throughout my career, I've encountered process servers from various walks of life, including former law enforcement officers, security personnel, Stay at Home Moms, and Property Managers.

Your background is irrelevant; what truly matters is your eagerness to learn and dedication to expanding your business.
