Within New York City, the DCWP Process Server Individual license has a two-year term and a $340 fee, requires the DCWP exam, GPS tracking that records the location, date, and time of each attempt under 6 RCNY § 2-233b, and recordkeeping under GBL § 89-cc. A separate Process Serving Agency license covers agencies. DCWP has required a $10,000 individual bond and $100,000 agency bond, or a trust fund or exemption; under Local Law 183 of 2025, DCWP stops requiring the surety bond as of September 8, 2026, and that effective date should be verified on the DCWP licenses and new local laws page before publishing.
